Tips on how to make one-pot cheeseburger pasta

  • Different pasta brands may require more or less liquid to cook and you might need to adjust accordingly.
  • If the pasta is just about done and the sauce is still too liquid, remove the lid and continue to cook uncovered to allow evaporation. Another way to help thicken the sauce is to add more cheese!
  • If the pasta looks dry, add water, broth or tomato juice in 1/2 cup increments until you reach desired consistency.
  • The pasta will continue to thicken as it sits so you might want to take it off the heat a little looser than you like.
  • Love bacon cheeseburgers? Enjoy the same flavors in pasta form by tossing in crisp bacon crumbles when ready to serve!

Best pasta for hamburger casserole

  • Elbow Macaroni most closely resembles the Hamburger Helper that we all know and love.
  • Rotini or Mini Shells would also work well.

Elbow macaroni takes about 7 minutes to reach the al dente point when it’s at a strong boil, so check the instructions if you switch up the pasta to get an idea of how you may need to adjust the cooking time.

Pickles!!!

As we all know, you just can’t have a cheeseburger without some pickles. Pickles are also a staple in this dish, because not only are they amazingly delicious, they also add a zest of flavor and sourness to an already great dish, which makes it even better.

Of course, this is not a rule that you can’t change. If you don’t like pickles, then by all means, take them out. Sometimes, you have to tweak a recipe to your tastes, so you can get the best results.
