Salmon Croquettes with Flour or with Cornmeal?

The major difference between flour and cornmeal is the texture and consistency. Cornmeal, made from drying and grinding dent corn.

It’s more coarsely ground than flour. If the cornmeal is used to thicken a recipe, then cornflour will make for an adequate substitute.

But the choice is yours. If you like coarse crunch use cornmeal. Either you use flour, you are a slightly soft food lover. Anyway, it’s optional for you.

Can you bake these salmon croquettes?

If you are not able to fry these salmon croquettes. Give it a try to bake them. My mom usually bakes these croquettes at 375 degrees for around 15 minutes.

Firstly, I spray a non-stick pan with some butter, then the salmon croquettes to get the golden color and get the crunch feeling when you eat them.

What other meats can you use instead of salmon?

If you aren’t familiar with the salmon smell and savor, you can make the croquettes with other tasty meat like tuna, white fish, and crab or you can use chicken or turkey meat.

Fresh salmon or canned salmon?

To make it easy for you to make salmon croquettes recipe, canned salmon saves time to make the meal fast. But as you know fresh salmon is healthier than canned, you can make it at home before preparing your croquettes.

If you decided to use fresh salmon, make sure to get the bones out of the fillet. And mince the salmon meat into pieces so it can be easily formed into patties.
